Frequently Asked Questions
How do I pay for therapy?
We are in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Select Health, and EMI. If you use one of these insurance providers we offer a complimentary insurance check to determine your benefits and copays.
We also provide cash-pay services for those with insurance out of these networks. Cash-pay fees range between $160-$200 per session depending on staff and service.
.In this case we can provide you with a Superbills to submit to your insurance company to seek reimbursement on your own.
What about a sliding scale?
PCCFC has a limited number of sliding-scale spots for families who have financial barriers that prevent them from getting the support they need. If you are interested in that option, please let us know when you call to inquire about scheduling services.
How do I know therapy is right for my child?
Our services are for kids and teens who are:
Showcasing big emotional outbursts or heightened displays of emotion
Experiencing difficulty with managing and regulating emotions effectively
Needing support with attention, focus, and/or impulsivity
Navigating peer, family, or parent conflict
Going through a big family change (such as divorce, death in your family, or separation)
Struggling with identity development, self-esteem, and self-worth
We offer free 15-minute consultations to learn more about what your family is going through and share options and recommendations with you.
What is "Parent Coaching" vs "therapy"?
Our Parent Coaching Services offer a blend of counseling (like talk therapy) and coaching, but we feel coaching is more encompassing of all the work we’ll do together. In parent sessions, we will guide you in looking at your own family history and habits that come into play in your parenting. We will also place an emphasis on skill- and resource-building to help you feel more confident in how to support your kids and manage difficult times with your child.
Will I be involved in my child’s therapy sessions?
We believe that lasting change happens within the context of the family system. While children need a private space to build trust with their therapist, we regularly collaborate with parents through check-ins, updates, and integrated family sessions to ensure you feel equipped to support your child's growth at home.
How long does the therapy process typically take?
Because every individual and family dynamic is unique, there is no one-size-fits-all timeline. Some families find the tools they need in a few months, while others benefit from longer-term, ongoing support. We will collaborate with you to set meaningful goals and regularly review progress together to be sure we are on track.
